JAMMU, AUGUST 29 (KNO) : Director Tourism, Jammu, O.P. Bhagat today convened a meeting with officers to review the functioning of the Department. While reviewing various development projects, the Director asked the Deputy Director Tourism, Maintenance & Works (DD, M&W) to ensure timely completion of projects sanctioned under three different components of “Himalayan Circuit of Swadesh Darshan Scheme.”

He further directed to ensure timely formulation of DPRs in respect of proposed projects, systematic monitoring of the pace of works on the ground and timely submission of Utilization Certificates to avail maximum benefit of resources from Ministry of Tourism for all round tourism infrastructural development. He said that the timely completion of projects is of utmost importance to increase foot-fall of the tourist from all across the Country and abroad as well. Time bound completion of these projects shall augment the available resources for providing better basic amenities and infrastructural facilities to the pilgrims/tourists visiting the State, he added.

He said that there is need to have vigorous, sustained and proactive approach to place important developmental projects on course for expediting their implementation. The Director asked the officers to clear all departmental pendencies in a time bound manner.
